How the ECI Duck Derby Race Works!
Step 1: Sponsor your duck or ducks
Sponsor Online: You can easily sponsor using the QR code displayed above or by visiting this ECI Duck Derby sponsorship link.
Once your sponsorship transaction is completed, your receipt will provide details of your sponsorship. Shortly after, you will receive an email containing your assigned duck numbers.
Sponsor in Person at ECI: Head over to the ECI Duck Derby booth (pro tip: look for the vibrant duck banners and attendees donning duck-themed attire).
Select a duck or a duck package to sponsor, make your contribution to the fundraiser, and then get ready for the race to begin!
Step 2: Ducks away!
The race kicks off at noon on Sunday, July 12th.
As the race begins, the Duck Derby Crew will release all the sponsored ducks into the pool simultaneously, creating a vibrant wave of yellow.
If you're at ECI, head over to the pool deck to watch the race and cheer for your duck!
For our online sponsors: Follow Antioch Delta Skimmers on Facebook and Instagram. A recording of the race will be available on both platforms after the ECI event wraps up in the late afternoon on July 12th, 2026. Winners will also be notified via email and phone following the race.
Step 3: The race is on!
Our dedicated team of volunteer propulsion engineers creates waves for the ducks to ride as they glide toward the finish line.
Using kickboards, these propulsion experts skillfully propel the water, guiding the ducks forward. As the lanes narrow, they seamlessly align behind one another, continuing to generate waves that steer the ducks toward victory until the winners emerge.
Only wave propulsion is permitted; no human touch is allowed to assist the ducks.
If a duck crosses the lane line, it is disqualified from the race. Likewise, any human contact with a duck results in disqualification.
Step 4: Winners emerge at the finish!
The first 10 ducks to cross the finish line will win exciting prizes for their sponsors!
You do not need to be present to win!
If you win, we will contact you to ensure your prize is delivered directly to you.
Every duck sponsorship supports the ADS swim team, helping us keep swim fees affordable. This enables more children in the East Bay to join the swim team and enjoy the swim season.

"A Lone Duck"
Single Duck Sponsorship - $5.00
Your sponsorship includes one duck that will paddle in the race on your behalf.
"The Quack Pack"
6 Ducks - $25 - Enjoy a charming little family of ducks swimming just for you.
" A Quackers Dozen"
13 Ducks - $50. This option allows you to have more ducks participating in the race!
"A Flock"
Stand out and enjoy a genuine Flock of 28 Ducks for just $100 as they feverishly paddle on your behalf in the race! Plus, you'll receive two Lucky Duck scratch-off tickets.

Visit the Duck Derby Booth on site at the 49th Annual East County Invitational Swim Meet held on July 11th & 12th, 2026, at Deer Valley High School in Antioch, CA.
Duck sponsorships close at 11:30 AM on Sunday, July 12th, 2026.
Then the fun begins, as the Ducks are gathered and transported to the pool for the official 2026 Derby!
